| The Industry :- The major problem faced by the Fluid Power Industry is that of contamination. Contamination in the system mixes with the Condensate generating corrosive & aggressive sludges damaging the Piping, Valves, Pneumatic equipment, resulting in Shutdown of Production Lines & pushing up the cost of maintenance. The impurities in the form
of atmospheric dirt & dust varies from 0.1 to 10 micron The continuos requirement of quality filtration resulted in the development of the Moisture Separators, Pre- Filters, Micro Coalesors & Activated carbon Filters. |
which cannot be handled by the intake filters. Additional
contamination is generated from the combustion of fuels & the compressor itself, even
an oil free type compressor does not generate clean compressed air. Contaminants are
generated through wear & tear, oil lubricated aerosols, oil vapours & carbon
particles from degraded oils (oil carry-over). This is created & carried-over in very
fine aerosols form up to 0.01 micron in size & in quantities from 1 to 100 mg/m3
(depending on the compressor).
